About the Department
The Department started in 1954 with the name Department of Technology and was recently bifurcated as the Department of Chemical Engineering.
The Department offers programs at UG, PG and Doctoral levels including B.Tech (Chemical Engineering), M.Tech (Chemical Engineering) in Chemical Reaction Engineering, Plant Design, Process Dynamics and Control, Environmental Engineering, M.Tech (Chemical Technology) in Material Science & Technology, Technology of Pharmaceuticals and Fine Chemicals, M.Tech in Biochemical Engineering & Biotechnology, and Ph.D programs in Chemical Engineering, Chemical Technology and Biotechnology.
Chemical Engineering is a rapidly growing interdisciplinary domain with strong links to Food Technology and Textile Technology.
It is one of the strongest departments in the university with highly qualified and experienced faculty dedicated to quality teaching and research, contributing to the institution’s high profile and emerging research areas.
